Interval training, was one of Bruce Lee's favorite endurance training techniques.

It always surprises me-- the more I learn about Bruce Lee. The more I realize how far ahead he was for his time. Today, high-intensity interval training has been proven by research to burn more calories and create more muscle growth than any other training protocol -- currently known.

Let's say you were training to run for a mile... You would begin by running 440 yards in 60 seconds, you would then rest, for an interval of about five minutes. You would slow down your pace to a restful jog or walk.

At the end of this interval you would then run another 440 yards in 60 seconds, followed by another five-minute rest interval and then again another 440 yards-- continue in this manner for a predetermined number of runs.

The Bruce Lee workout for endurance training should begin this way-

In the beginning jog easily-- then gradually increase the tempo and the distance-- finally include sprints to develop your wind.

Here are some reasons why you should follow the Bruce Lee workout for endurance training --

It's quick -- for beginners you can jog 30 minutes a day three days a week approximately 90 minutes per week.

Safety -- jogging is very gradual, you do not overexert yourself and you can begin your own level of fitness

Improves your heart and lungs -- not only your heart and lungs but also your circulatory system is increased by the expanding capacity to process oxygen handle stress. The greatest benefit is the increased efficiency of the heart and lungs.

You will look and feel better -- this type of exercise stimulates circulation, tones the muscles and gives you a more positive outlook. Running/jogging also reduces fat deposits around the hips and thighs and firm signing muscles and helps to flatten your stomach.

You will lose weight -- jogging is an effective way to lose weight.

A flatter stomach and a smaller waist -- this type of exercise helps to shape your body and redistribute your body fat. In recent studies male joggers reduced the size of their waistline and female joggers reduced their dress size by one full size.

These are just some of benefits that the Bruce Lee workout for endurance training can provide you. Using this method along with Bruce Lee's interval training is one of the most effective ways to increase your speed power and strength.

Regardless of whether you want to gain maximum muscle size or lose body fat-- or both. The correct exercise equipment and nutrition program are essential.

Customer Review: Almost There...
When I received my FreeAgent Theater, I had dreams of leisurely viewing my movies and my photos and listening to my favorite music...all digitally and from one space-saving device. Upon opening the packaging, I was less than impressed with the glossy, black plastic of the FreeAgent. Encouraging however, was how simple the set-up and operation of the device was purported to be in the manual. A little over two hours later, more than a little confused and agitated, I realized that the FreeAgent device had mistaken my existing external Seagate hard drive with the new one I'd received in the mail along with the device. Fortunately, my data on that drive was not lost, only modified. I finally went to the Seagate website and downloaded a firmware update. I was able to install that easily with a spare flash drive. Still, the device was confused with my original Seagate drive which I use only as a backup device. Frustrated, I moved forward and was able to load test photos, music and movies onto my existing external drive and put the FreeAgent Theater through its paces. The music played well through my entertainment center. Most impressive was the quality of the photos. They loaded quickly - even those taken at full quality on my 10 Mega-pixel camera. The slide show feature proved to be a nice touch. The quality of the photos was gorgeous on the large TV screen in high definition. Perhaps it could have been even better if the device had had an HDMI interface, but the component video connection served well. Lastly, I tested a few movies in DIVX and MPEG formats on the FreeAgent Theater. I attached the device to a multimedia projector via the S-video and RCA audio inputs. Both video formats seemed "mushy" - my low-tech term for poor-quality. The same movies connected to the projector directly from my computer were much crisper. I was depressed initially that Seagate didn't include support for the Apple computer aficionados. This is an XP and Vista only product. However, I found a nice workaround that allowed me to download my media from my MacBook Pro onto a flash drive. The same flash drive could then be inserted into the convenient USB port in the front of the Seagate Theater. My movies, photos and music - all portable again! I was able to plug other external drives into the USB port as well. These all worked flawlessly. I began to warm up to the Seagate Theater just a little more, Nonetheless, first impressions are everything. I still found myself longing for a device that would bond with my trusty Mac. HDMI support and a carrying case would be nice pluses, too. Given that this is the first version of a multimedia product, it has great potential. I do anticipate seeing several other rival companies responding with their own knock-offs in the very near future. Portability is its strong suit. Paired with a multimedia projector, it's a sure-fire bet for a fun-filled backyard movie night.
Customer Review: Perfect
I am a huge movie buff with a collection of over 2000 DVD's. I also travel extensively and I love to take movies with me to watch on my computer. Up to now I have resisted digitizing my collection because of the drive limitations on DVR's, and the connectivity issues of most media devices. This is the solution. The entire collection did not fit onto one DVR, and if I was going to be messing with cables and plugs all the time, like on the passport media player, I could just set my laptop on the TV. I also appreciate that this system has base station buttons, unlike the passport which is dependent on the remote. This way I drop the drive in, press play, and by the time I am reclined with my popcorn everything is loaded and ready to go. Very buck rogers. The only thing that could make it cooler is a motion sensitive sliding glass door like on the Bang and Olafsen stereos. This is a neat streamlined system that I set up once and do not mess with again. The drives sit in a customized docking station where they blend seamlessly with the base, nearly invisible if you use the black 500gb drives, unlike the Passport where the drive sits adjacent on the shelf connected with cords. With this system I will transfer all my DVD's onto Free agent external drives (of which I already have several, and I am very happy with) buy more as needed, and keep the collection neat and organized. When I get a new DVD I play it one time burned onto the drive, shelve it, and never touch it again. No cords or cables, just a nice neat minimalist black box, and a nice neat stack of cleanly designed hard drives. Brilliant.

Traditional dog training was initially developed to train war dogs. It was very useful during World War I. This training technique was embraced by civilian trainers after World War II, and quickly became the standard way to train dogs.

It seems that Colonel Konrad Most was the founder of this technique and, therefore, he is acknowledged as the father of modern dog training.

However, the main supporter of the technique was William R. Koehler. His book "The Koehler Method of Dog Training" could be the all-time best selling publication in the field.

Modern scientific principles of learning were not used to develop traditional training, so it is an empirical technique. Nevertheless, it seems that Konrad Most already understood the principles of operant conditioning on 1910, several years before those principles were published. So, this technique can be explained by operant conditioning principles.

Negative reinforcement and punishment are the main teaching ways of traditional training.

Negative reinforcement is the process that strengthens a behavior because an unpleasant situation is stopped or avoided as a consequence of that particular behavior. For instance, pushing on your dog's shoulders will provoke an unpleasant situation for him. If the pressure over his shoulders disappears when he lies down, he will be more likely to do the same in the future, just to avoid that unpleasant sensation. Thus, your dog will be learning to lie down through negative reinforcement.

Punishment, on the other hand, is an unpleasant consequence of a particular behavior. Although punishment could weaken a behavior, it is not a guarantee that this will happen. Besides, punishments usually have undesired collateral effects.

An example of punishment would be if you hit your dog or yell at him because he climbed on the armchair. As a consequence you may get your dog off of the armchair, but there is no guarantee that he won't climb again. Some possible undesired consequences could be that your dog bites you, he gets scared each time you appear or he gets phobia to armchairs.

Choke chains, prong collars and shock (electric) collars are common tools in traditional training and all its variants. Also, this kind of training is usually targeted to dog obedience exercises, disregarding behavioral problems.

Advocates of this technique often argue that traditional training provides reliable results which can't be obtained with other techniques. They also claim that training collars (choke, prong and shock) are harmless because dogs have a high threshold of pain.

Detractors of traditional dog training argue that both the technique and the tools are cruel and violent. They also claim that the technique can cause dangerous collateral effects, such as fear biting and damages to the dog's trachea.
